Thermowell is used to protect the thermobulb from the process medium. In case of severe applications, you must always chose the right types and materials to prevent both assumable and nonassumable problems from happening.

A thermowell will also prevent the filling fluid inside the thermobulb and the process medium to mix up in case of leakage from the thermobulb.
